The screenplay, crafted by Courvoisier and Théo Abadie, follows a somewhat familiar storyline, but the outcome is anything but predictable. Totone embarks on a significant journey of self-improvement, not just for himself but also for his sister.
Vieux Dieux is a charming little film that truly deserves to be seen by a wider audience.
I’d rate it four stars!
Note: After its premiere at Cannes, Vingt Dieux (Holy Cow) has been making the rounds on the festival circuit and has also hit theaters in several European countries, as well as the United States. This week, it’s making its debut in Hungary and The Netherlands.
