The story of A MINECRAFT MOVIE follows five unlikely heroes in a captivating realm. Steve, a doorknob salesman from Chuglass, Idaho, feels unfulfilled in his mundane life and decides to pursue his true passion for mining. He ventures into a local mineshaft and begins to dig, where he discovers a mysterious cube and an orb. When he places the cube into the orb, he is magically transported to the enchanting Overworld, a place where creativity knows no bounds. Here, he revels in the joy of building incredible structures and forms a bond with a wolf named Dennis, who becomes his loyal companion. However, their adventure takes a dark turn when Steve is captured by the malevolent piglin queen, Malgosha, who resides in a perilous realm known as the Nether. Before he is taken by her guards, Steve sends Dennis back to Earth to seek help and to hide the orb, which Malgosha needs to execute her sinister plans. Following Steve's instructions, Dennis arrives on Earth, leading to a series of events that ultimately brings the orb into the hands of Garrett, also known as The Garbage Man, a once-celebrated gamer now struggling with debt. Alongside local broker Dawn and two newcomers to Chuglass, Henry and Natalie, they are all drawn into the Overworld, setting the stage for the unfolding adventure.
