If you believe that Bobby Boermans's latest criminal thriller, iHostage, is named after a person who gets into problems because of an Apple device, you should reconsider. A man enters an Apple Store on Leidseplein and kidnaps a person, hence the title of the film, iHostage. This connection made me laugh. iHostage does a good job of showing that not all true stories are worthy of being turned into a television program or motion picture. This one and a half-hour thriller's sole purpose is to entice you to read about the actual event. Furthermore, it becomes clear after reading the stories online that Boerman is likely looking for praise for his faithfulness to the true events.
