Thunderbolts (2025) delves into the darker parts of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, bringing together a gang of antiheroes caught up in a tangled web of political intrigue and personal redemption. Jake Schreier directs this picture, which tells a morally complex plot that deviates from traditional superhero stories. Yelena Belova (Florence Pugh) is central to the plot, as she struggles with her grief and searches for meaning after her sister Natasha's death. Her path crosses with that of Valentina Allegra de Fontaine (Julia Louis-Dreyfus), a crafty CIA director under threat of impeachment. In order to cover her crimes, Valentina assembles a group of outcasts, including Bucky Barnes (Sebastian Stan), Red Guardian, and Ghost, and offers them a shot at atonement in exchange for their quiet.
